Founder and Artist Director
Bronson York, an Oregon born Californian, has been studying bassoon for six years, five of those year under the instruction of Dr. Steve Vacchi. He holds a degree from the university of Oregon in performance where he also recieved an award in outstanding performance. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelors in music, Bronson started his Master's of music in 2017.
Bronson founded the Pacific Artists Collective in March of 2017 to offer the students of the University of Oregon an opportunity to create music in an entirely student run ensemble. He hopes that in creating an interdisciplinary ensemble, a trend of collaboration between the university of Oregon schools of music and dance that will last beyond his time at this school and as the artist director of this ensemble.
Bronson is also a freelance bassoonist in the Eugene area. He plays with several ensembles in the area including Orchestra Next and the Eugene Symphony. Being an advocate of new music, Bronson also preforms with the Composers of Oregon Contemporary Orchestra, under the direction of Brian McWhorter. He also was a recording artist for several electronic music artists including Medium Troy, RJD2, Lafa Taylor, Beats Antique and TroyBoi.
